About
I am a music educator, percussionist, and theatre director based in North Canton, Ohio. I have taught in North Canton City Schools since 2012 as the musical theatre instructor, musical theatre director, and auditorium manager, and I also advise the National Honor Society, Drama Club, and technical theatre. Since 2026 I have served as an assistant director of the Hoover High School Marching Band.
Most of my career has been spent on a band field. I earned my B.S. in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University with a concentration in percussion, and I have been assistant marching band director and percussion instructor at Madison Local Schools, Copley-Fairlawn City Schools, and North Canton, and percussion coach and symphony manager for the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony for ten years. I compose and arrange for marching band, design sound, and consult with directors across the state. Since 2024 I have judged the percussion caption at OMEA marching band adjudicated events, and I serve as a DAZZLE Awards adjudicator for Playhouse Square. I still perform with the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra, the Canton Concert Band, the Sounds of Sousa Band, and Cleveland Winds, and on drumset and percussion in pit orchestras.
I am a Ph.D. student in Music Education at Kent State University (anticipated May 2028). My research agenda centers on the implementation of generative AI in music education, and I have also presented on ensemble membership, competitive marching band, musical theatre in music education, self-efficacy, and trauma-informed teaching. I hold an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Bowling Green State University and an M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology from Full Sail University.
